Abstract The results of studies, preformed in Talnakh ore nickel-pyrrhotine and nickel flotation circuits, are presented. Based on the ores chemical composition studies by means of using conventional and the state-of-the-art analysis methods, the flow-sheet improvement is proposed with a view to produce a high-grade nickel concentrate. It is shown, that appropriate alterations in the flow-sheet with concurrent corrections in the reagent regime permitted to significantly improve nickel concentrate grade. In processing of ore blend containing 1.93 % nickel and 3.6 % copper, nickel concentrate is produced with 14.7 % nickel content, recovery being 77.52 %; while from ore blend containing 2.25 % nickel and 3.72 % copper-nickel concentrate with 15.6 % nickel content, recovery being 76.79 %.
