Abstract | In 2012–2013 Uralmekhanobr developed the dressing technology and production procedure for a titaniummagnetite ore processing plant at the Tebinbulak deposit, Republic of Uzbekistan. The suggested scheme for crushing and dry magnetic separation of original ore with iron content of 16.1 % includes three stages of closed cycle crushing and dry magnetic separation within the fine milling stage. After dry separation it is possible to obtain 33.3 % of tailings -16 mm in size, with magnetic iron content under 1 %. Iron content of dry magnetic separation middlings is 19.5 %. The following cone crushes of the Uralmash manufacture are employed: stage I—KKD-1500/180; stage II—KSD-2200-T2-D; stage III—KMD-300 T. Rod mills are proposed for stage I crushing. The multi-staged wet magnetic separation is involved. The optimum size of the wet magnetic separation at stage I is 1 mm. The conditions for crushing and wet magnetic separation are approved on a pilot-plant equipment. After multistage crushing and magnetic separation of material with up to 95 % content of –0.071 mm grain size, the concentrate contained 66.6 % Fe, 3 % TiO2 and 0.66 % V2O5. The proposed scheme features the following advantages: to 45 % of tailings is extracted at the first stage of dressing; use of equipment of high unit capacity; no concentrate thickening stage; dewatering of wet magnetic separation tailings. |
