DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR RESEARCH AREAS WORKED ON
- developing the theory of non-metallic phases formation processes in liquid and solidifying steels and alloys; computer modeling of these processes;
- control of carbonitride inhomogeniety in corrosion resistant steels;
- technology for complex micro alloying of structural steels with nitride forming agents and nitrogen;
- control of the processes of carbonitride formation in liquid and solidifying steels and alloys;
- complex molten treatment of nickel super alloys, including high temperature holding, modifying with titanium carbonitride and filtration of the metal during casting;
- technology for melting high alloyed chromium alloys, including endogenic modifying with nitrogen and nitride forming agents;
- physical/chemical prognosing of cast MMS’s;
- semi-solid processing;
- image analysis for quantitative description of materials structure;
- thermodynamic simulation of the phase formation in liquid and solidifying alloys;
- metallurgical examination of the steel and alloys beginning from steelmaking up to final product (slab-plate-tube).

Research results have been presented and discussed at national and international scientific and technical conferences. More the 100 talks have been presented, including keynote lectures at 32nd annual convention of IMS meeting held in Cincinnati 1999, at 10th Engendering materials, held in Israel, Dead Sea, Feb., 2002.
