30.10.2012, 19:05

In order to better satisfying the increasing demand of the local customers, SMS Concast signed a contract to buy its own premises in Pune, Maharashtra, India. The new offices of SMS Concast will be located on the 5th floor of “The Down Town City Centre” (DTC). The property will provide space for 180 to 200 people.

The economic outlook for India is promising. SMS Concast expects to realize further growth on the Indian subcontinent. The existing offices, however, do not leave any room for staff expansion.

The new offices in Pune were bought by SMS Concast as bare shell. It will, however, take six to eight months for the interior furnishing to be completed. The move into the new offices is scheduled for early 2013.

Since 2009, all SMS Concast engineers use one common technological platform making worldwide cooperation and communication among each other even easier and Indian engineers were thus able to better contribute to the joint success.

In 2010, the staff in Pune grew by another 30 people.

Proximity as one of the key criteria for the new offices

For SMS Concast, proximity to the present offices was very important. The reason: Commuting in India is highly time-consuming. A major shift in distance could cause unintended staff fluctuation.
