Abstract | This article considers the information about the development of new types of calcium products at Chepetsky Mechanical Plant. It is noted that until 1990-ies, only ingots of distilled and monolithic calcium had been manufactured as two main types of production. These ingots were used for the fabrication of calcium shavings for the reduction melting of uranium, zirconium and hafnium from fluorides and the reduction of niobium from oxide. The shavings were made by means of butt-end milling or turning. The production of new types of calcium products began in 1980 and is still carrying out. The technologies and equipment for their realization are based on the following results: -the research results of methods of calcium products geometry formation by casting, cutting, shaping and condensation from a gas phase. The industrial manufacturing of the following types of products is mastered: |
