Abstract | On the basis of the works, performed by the authors earlier, the results and made generalizations concerning the methods of obtaining oxides of rare-earth metals (REM) and yttrium. The main technological operations include the processes of dissolution, sedimentation, filtration, drying, tempering. Dimensions of primary particles of the microstructure of the studied oxides of rare-earth metals (Ce, La, Gd, Eu, Er) and yttrium are in the field of nano-sized and are 11,0–100,0 nm. The influence of time-temperature factor on the specific parameters of microstructure. We are talking first of all about the buffer layers, which are created on metal substrates (tapes) in the manufacture of current-carrying devices with increased functionality. Generalization is made of the conditions, allowing to receive oxides of rare-earth metals with nano-size structure taking into account various chemical background. The new opportunities of solid-phase synthesis of high-temperature superconducting materials of the composition of Ln(Y)Ba2Cu3O7–x when used as initial substances oxides of rare-earth metals, of yttrium with nano-sized structures. Nanopowders of rare-earth metals oxide have been prepared through thermal decomposition of various precursors. The nature of precursors has been shown to have a significaut effect on the microstructure of the powders. The stability of the powders to particle (crystallite) growth has been studied as function of heat-treatment temperature and duration. New possibility for synthesis of high-temperature superconduc tors were found for use of the starting nanostruc tured powders |
