Abstract |
A new high perfomance enterprise — “Karabashmed” JSC — was created on the copper market due to the analysis of market relations in Ural non-ferrous metallurgy for the period of 1990–2000 and the right choice of the main factors, which determine certain competitive advantages of the company. The innovative technologies in the spheres of production, organization and management were used to ensure the competitiveness of a new enterprise. Innovations in metallurgical processing consisted of complete and radical changes of all equipment with the transition to modern technological processes which have no analogues in Russian non-ferrous metallurgy. As of the end of 2011, 268 million USD were mastered during the implementation of innovative programs in main and auxiliary productions. An additional amount of 255.5 million USD was required to invest for the completion of the planned program of enterprise`s reconstruction. The innovative technologies have been used in the process of oxygen obtaining, sulfuric acid production, metallurgical processing of copper-containing raw materials and depletion of slags of autogenous furnaces. The introduction of innovative processes, technologies and equipment allowed the company to make the significant improvement of all financial and economic indicators, to ensure the reduction of environmental pollution and to fill a niche on Russian market of copper-containing raw materials and finished products. |
