Abstract | The article presents general situation in molybdenum industry both in Russia and in the world. There are given brief description of the method of molybdenum containing ores concentration, targets of the development of the technology for their concentration and the difficulties that the research team has come across when developing this technology. In more details there is described concentration of purely molybdenum and copper-molybdenum ores. Having taken two deposits — Orekitcan (molybdenum ores) and Ak-Sug (copper-molybdenum ores) — the authors show the results of the investigations on the development of effective concentration technology, carried out in the Laboratory of Geological and Technical Study of Raw Materials of the Gipronickel Institute. The concentration results achieved in the course of these investigations (molybdenum recovery and molybdenum concentrate amount) correspond to the current world level. The possibility to develop a technology for concentration of material from explored deposits resulting in commercial output is described. |
