Abstract | In 1962, on the basis of the newly formed “Physics of rocks and processes” department, at the initiative of Moscow Mining Institute chancellor, academician V.V. Rzhevsky (he was also the first head of this department till 1964), the graduating of mining engineers by “Physical processes of mining production” speciality has started. Mining engineers of this speciality were widely needed in scientific, design and educational organizations of mining profile as well as in industry. Further involvement of this speciality engineers in working in industry has increased significantly. The distinctive feature of training the “Physical processes of mining production” specialization engineers from training the “Geotechnology” specialization engineers is basic disciplines advanced studies in mining sphere, and, in particular, such as “Physical processes of mining production”. This integrated and extensive discipline includes the study of physical processes in rocks formations, and physics of mining production technological processes. Physical processes include geomechanic, thermodynamic, electromagnetic, hydo- and gas-dynamic processes with the extraction and processing of minerals. The process of mining production, (which physics is studied in the discipline), in the first place include the destruction of rocks with their drilling, crushing, grinding, up to deep disintegration; relocation of rock mass by gravitational way, wheel, conveyor, hydro-and pneumatic transport; the preservation of mine working containing rock massifs steadiness by various technological ways. The paper is published in a discussion order. |
