Abstract | The effect of permeability of material of bottom blocks on service life of aluminium electrolyzers is examined. The features of filtration of electrolyte melt via biporous structure of bottom blocks in cathode device of aluminium electrolyzer are shown via mathematical simulation. The stream of electrolyte via block surface during starting period and operation of an electrolyzer is determined for two bottom blocks with different structure of porosity and value of permeability. Empiric relationship between service life of an electrolyzer and value of permeability of bottom blocks is obtained on the base of calculated data. |
