Abstract Testing results of sintering machine specific output as well as sinter product strength and basicity optimization in processing sinter mix, mostly composed of Mikhailovsky and Lebedinsky concentrates, at OAO «Uralskya Stal» (Urals Steel) sinter plant, are presented. It was revealed, that in processing sinter mix in question sintering regime should be conducted at basicity of 1.38 with sintering machine specific output of 1.116 t/(m2·hr), sinter product impact strength being 68.13 %. The testing methodology may serve as analogue of the above-mentioned sintering parameters optimization for sinter mix of other material composition.
