Abstract Variable-size sylvinite ore desliming tests on roll magnetic separators SMRS-12/50-R and SMRS-22/50-R have been carried out. According to the testing results, up to 90.0 % of insoluble impurities are recovered into magnetic fraction. Ore size plays an important role in insoluble residue recovery. With apparatus modification for high-clay sylvinite ore cleaning, high-capacity separators may be built for application in potash industry.
