Abstract The view of metallurgist on technical concepts pertaining to solutions in final tailings thickening and disposal systems at the latest operating and designed Mining Complexes is presented. Thickening equipment operating parameters statistics is presented. Concentrators with cone and «dry» disposal of final tailings are listed, and their principal technical concepts are described. Certain economic indicators are given. The review makes no pretence to complete comprehensiveness, but permits to provide orientation regarding modern tendencies in development of principal technical design concepts related to the systems in question.
