Abstract | Silicon carbide on nitride binder is an irreplaceable material for side lining for modern electrolytic baths in aggregate of its characteristics (high oxidation stability, corrosion resistance to aluminium and electrolyte melts, resistance to erosive wear and thermal conductivity). The results of researches from foreign laboratories about destruction mechanism of this lining and the methods increasing operating time have been presented. The detailed information about organization of industrial production of described material (and the lining details on this base) together with “Vulcan Refractories” (UK) at Volzhskiy abrasive plant has been done. |
