Abstract |
In the process of manufacture of various products made from alloy steels, a large amount of steel is consumed in waste (chips, die-cuts, trimmings, etc.), during the processing of which by conventional methods of remelting, a significant part is irretrievably lost or greatly depreciated. An example is the remelting of high-speed R6M5 steel waste containing expensive and scarce alloying elements. In this regard, there is a need to continue research on economical powder methods for processing high-speed steel chips into blanks that are not inferior in properties to cast and forged steel. The purpose of the work is to study the methods of processing high-speed steel chips into blanks. In our study, we selected a technology based on grinding chips into powder, followed by cold pressing and sintering, i.e. according to the simplest typical scheme of powder metallurgy, first used for processing P6М5 chips by V. S. Rakovsky. |
