Abstract |
The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) possesses huge oil, gas and gas condensate reserves. As of 2023, there are 32 hydrocarbon fields, of which only 25 % are currently being developed. The northern blocks of Mid-Botuoba oil and gas condensate field were put into commercial operation in 1985 to supply Western Yakutia with gas. The annual gas extraction from 11 gas condensate wells in the northern blocks is 200 million cubic meters. In 2013, Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha LLC began commercial oil production in the Central Blocks of Mid-Botuoba field. In 2023, the fund of producing oil wells totaled 157 units. The oil wells are characterized by a high gas factor, about 40 %, and oil production goes with high recovery of associated petroleum gas. Based on the foregoing, Yakutia is currently at the initial stage of development of the oil and gas industry. Expansion of this sector in Yakutia should be based primarily on the rational use of minerals, in particular, associated petroleum gas. This study analyzes the natural gas samples taken from gas condensate wells and the associated petroleum gas samples from the fields of Western Yakutia to determine their compositions and to compare the results with the calculated physicochemical properties to assess usability of associated petroleum gas as gas motor fuel for mining machines. |
