Abstract |
This article discusses the methodological approach proposed by the authors to assess and control the explosive and fire-hazardous properties of mine air. The relevance of the research is based on the statistics of accidents and fatally injured employees in the mining sector in Russia, as well as on the analysis of causes of certain adversities. The methodology is common to all coal and ore mines and therefore may contain some drawbacks related to peculiarities of air quality evaluation and control in coal, oil and ore mines. When developing the methodological approach, the authors revealed a certain general algorithm which is given in the article. The essence of the algorithm is to identify hazards at different stages of mining operations, which should start at the design stage of mines. Evaluation and control of explosive and flammable substances in mine air is to be carried out in the normal mode process flow and in case of various emergencies. It is possible to use the applied systems of modeling of heat and mass transfer processes in order to identify dead-air zones. Finally, the authors suggest locating stationary and shared gas analyzers on the ground of a scientifically based approach that takes into account specific conditions of a specific mine. For identifying hazardous substances and materials, it is proposed to use express methods which allow rapid assessment of change in explosive and firehazardous properties of mine air. The authors prove the need for the graphoanalytic matrices for underground mining safety based on the prototype of explosive triangles used in coal mines. The study was supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Project No. 121111800053-1. |
