Abstract

Comparative results of studies on iron concentrate leaching obtained during processing of Volkovsky deposit titanomagnetite ore of Sverdlovsk region by hydrochloric and sulfuric acids as opening reagents are presented. Iron concentrate of JSC "Svyatogor" contains valuable components Fetot – 58.50 %, vanadium and titanium in terms of oxides V2O5 – 1.37 %, TiO2 – 5.64 %. It was found that the best result of opening Fe-V-Ti mineral particles is achieved by using 20 % hydrochloric acid at a temperature of 92-98 oC by experiment. It is possible to extract iron 98.44 % and vanadium 98.51 % into the production solution, and titanium into cake 97.96 % under this leaching condition. The work used a complex of physicochemical methods of analysis - X-ray diffraction, X-ray spectral, X-ray fluorescence, raster electron microscopy, and also carried out grain-size measurements.
