Abstract | To extend the life of excavator bucket teeth, a method of multi-electrode surfacing over a layer of alloy charge is considered: a layer of a special wear-resistant high-carbon hypereutectic alloy alloyed with chromium and manganese is applied to the surface of a worn tooth in one pass. The structure of such alloy consists of trigonal type carbides and a tough metal base. The fusion zone of this alloy with 110G13L steel has been studied. It is shown that the selected composition of welding consumables and the optimized mode of surfacing provide a reliable joint of the wearresistant layer with the base metal. A special multi-electrode installation for surfacing excavator teeth was made. The performance of the welded teeth has been tested in real conditions of soil excavation with rock inclusions. Operational tests showed good wear resistance of the hardfacing metal. |
