Abstract

The article presents some studies into the interaction of neighbor explosive charges during blasting. The issues related to the analysis of the formation of rupture faces in rock mass to prevent propagation of explosive waves are identified. The explosion shielding guides developed at the Institute of Mining, Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences are described. The potential adverse scenarios in case that the protective measures are neglected are discussed. An approach to adjusting the drilling and blasting parameters depending on the explosion pressure and on the rock properties is indicated. The novelty of the study lies in the simplified determination of the perimeter blasting parameters. It is possible to assess approximately the impact of explosive charges of different diameters on the well walls and on the rock pressure at a designated distance. A nomogram is given for the simplified determination of the impact exerted by explosive charges in rock mass; the nomogram allows finding the optimized ratios of the diameters of charges and wells, as well as estimating the variation in the destructive effect of a blast with an increasing distance. The research findings can also be used to evaluate the crushing effect of explosion since the pressure patterns in this case are the same as in perimeter blasting, and only the method of its volume adjustment changes.
The study was carried out under State Contract No. 075-00412-22 PR. Topic 1 (2022–2024): Methodological Framework for the Strategy of Integrated Solid Mineral Mining in the Development Trend of Mine Engineering Systems (FUWE-2022-0005).
