Since October 2018, the slab continuous caster No. 8 of voestalpine Stahl GmbH has reached a nominal level of productivity of 100 thousand tons per month. About 1630 melts were cast, 70 of them in series and with high quality. Thanks to the quality and reliability of Danieli mechanical equipment and technology packages, as well as the experience and knowledge of voestalpine Stahl GmbH workers, the new slab continuous caster No. 8 exceeded all expectations in terms of both productivity and product quality during a successful start-up period; the installation is currently operating at full capacity. Such impressive results were possible due to the close interaction between the project teams of voestalpine Stahl and Danieli, confi rming the hard work of all participants and the careful planning of their activities. Currently, slab continuous caster No. 8 is fully integrated into the operation of the steelmaking shop No. 3 of voestalpine Stahl.
