Abstract |
The quality of foundry coke largely determines both the smelting technology and the quality of its final product - cast iron. A great numberof w orks in this field indicate ambiguity of application of concepts, properties and parameters. In addition, there is a standard that establishes the designation of a whole set of indicators (parameters) of the quality of coal coke at the moment (GOST 27313-2015), however, such standardization is absent for properties. In this regard, there was a concept developed, which is a new approach to the establishment of requirements for the quality of foundry coke using such standardization methods as systematization, classification and optimization. The concept includes three stages: the ordering of terms and their definitions in the field of parameters and properties of foundry coke; selection of properties characterizing the quality of foundry coke; optimization of the parameters of foundry coke, aimed at the establishment of optimal values. The result of the implementation of all stages should be a list of parameters and their values, which will be requirements for the quality standards of foundry coke. Systematization of properties consists in their reasonable classification. For properties of foundry coke classifying a hierarchical classification method was chosen. In accordance with the selected classification criterion (the nature of the manifestation of properties) the physical, chemical and physical-chemical properties are at the upper hierarchical levels. The chemical properties of foundry coke can be attributed to their ability to change the chemical composition of cast iron and ensure heat smelting. The ability to change the chemical composition of cast iron is a property that combines a number of parameters of foundry coke, directly affecting the chemical composition of cast iron in the cupola smelting process. The physical - chemical properties, characterized by changes in the activity of chemical interaction depending on physical parameters, were attributed reactivity in the interaction with CO2 and O2. |
