Abstract: Outokumpu Nirosta has started in 2014 the large-scale modernization project for elevation of its production facilities in Germany. In the framework of this project, Ebner Industrieofenbau has supplied Outokumpu Nirosta works in Krefeld with bright annealing line for special stainless strip processing via Hicon/H₂ technology, providing high bright surface. Very dynamic procedure of heat treatment and precision adjusting of all equipment components made it possible to achieve line productivity 28 tph, which is the highest productivity of bright annealing lines worldwide. All construction and implementation operations took only 25 months, despite serious difficulties and challenges connected with integration of this line in the existing production infrastructure. Outokumpu Nirosta appreciates very high the excellent quality of producing strip as well as stability and reproducibility of technological parameters, high productivity and power efficiency of the line.
