Abstract | The analysis of known designs and technical data of the roller straightening machines which allowed to reveal following directions of their modernization is presented. This analysis displayed increase of straightening speed, increase of rigidity of roller block via usage of backup rollers with different design, installation of safety gears for the prevention of roller block overloading, replacement of mechanical screw-down mechanisms by hydraulic ones with better adjustment possibilities for rollers, application of devices for counter-bending of barrels of working rollers, individual adjustment of rollers during straightening, use of the individual drive of rollers, application of management automation, automatic control of rollers position using analogue systems under indications of the thickness gauge and automation of quality control of straightened rolled sheet. The causes of sheet displacement to the right or to the left from the longitudinal straightening axis are formulated; elastic transverse bending of roller barrels, wear difference along the length of a roller barrel, difference of friction forces along the sheet width can be mentioned here; they are caused by difference of scale forming during heat treatment after hot rolling. The design of the seven-roller straightening machine equipped with centering guide is developed. Calculation of the straightening force components and strength calculation of parameters of roller barrel and roller neck is carried out, construction parameters of the centering guide are defined. Tensile strength calculation has been conducted for a seven-roller straightening machine, for operating conditions of 10KhSND (10ХСНД) steel sheets 2000 mm wide and 15-40 mm thick. Parameters of sheet non-flatness before and after straightening on the seven-roller machine are presented. It is shown that efficiency of usage of centering guides is about 11%. |
