Abstract |
Our paper shows the results of laboratory studies and pilot tests of microporous impregnated sorbent, where extragent Cyanex 272, included into a styrenedivinylbenzene matrix, was used as an impregnator for extraction and deep purification of nickel solutions from cobalt. The impregnated sorbent with functional groups of di-(2,3,4-trimethylpenthyl) phosphinic acid provides the required extraction of cobalt from nickel solution during the single-two ion exchange sorption stage in static mode. The maximum purification of cobalt solution from nickel impurities is within рН 3-6. High values of cobalt and nickel separation factors, achieving 5000 in the process solutions, allow nickel and cobalt separation in presence of suppressor ions such as copper, zinc, iron, etc. The conditions were developed for flush displacement of impregnated cobalt-rich sorbent from nickel macrocation. The conditions are offered for nickel desorption from rich anionites with obtaining of residual capacity allowing the multiple use of sorbent charge. The hardware solutions are recommended for purification. |
