Abstract | Production conditions in the iron and steel industry are characterized by continuous equipment operation and severe operating conditions. Thereby efficient protection of the existing equipment and prevention of production incidents and work interruptions owing to sudden stopping of operation is strictly required. Salzgitter Flachstahl company uses for this purpose the Condition Monitoring system (CMS) for control of the state of the continuous pickling line (CPL). The main CPL components are controlled by special sensors, so each small deviation in operation of motors and gear boxes can be recognized just at the initial stage of their appearance, while repair and technical maintenance measures can be planned in optimal way and beforehand. The server software Haicmon Analysis Center plays the main role in CPL operation; it is put into practice as a suitable net supplement with the powerful management system for data bases. |
