Abstract | The paper presents the measures in the field of vanadium technological stage realized at EVRAZ Nizhniy Tagil metallurgical works. Reorganization of blast furnace production in 2009 with transition to melting of only vanadium cast iron is described. It allowed to rise production of vanadium cast iron via duplex process up to 4.09 mln. tpy. The technology of safe utilization of lime-vanadium slags contained in sinter charge materials, during manufacture of vanadium-containing iron flux for blast furnaces is described. The melting technology for vanadium slag and carbon metal semiproduct was mastered in the basic oxygen converters with combined blowing in the framework of steelmaking production; the technology of hot metal devanadation using briquetted iron-containing waste materials of the works was mastered as well. The environmental load of the enterprise is now decreased essentially. The specially directed investment project aimed on the development of production of vanadium slag with fine comminution (160 μm fraction) was realized. |
