Abstract

The paper presents the results of monitoring of properties of ductile and liquid lubricants used for lubrication of bearing blocks and gear assemblies of gear boxes of skip hoists in blast furnaces. Investigations have been conducted during six months of operation of these gear boxes, with periodical sampling of lubricants for spectral-chemical analysis. Kinematic toughness of mineral oil and its acidic amount, penetration at 25 ºC for ductile lubricant from bearing blocks of gear boxes and drop temperature have been determined during this analysis. Content of mechanical impurities has been defi ned as well. The results of the analysis allowed to evaluate efficiency of packing assemblies and wear intensity of friction blocks. Corresponding constructive improvement of packing assemblies of bearing blocks of gear boxes and circulating system for lubrication of gear assemblies with portion feed has been suggested. Putting these proposed technical solutions into practice in the conditions of blast furnace shop at Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works gas displayes their efficiency due to lowering of consumption of lubricants by 10–15% and decrease of wear of gearing assemblies and rolling bearings by 1.2–1.25 times.
