Abstract | Unique evaluation algorithms, sensor versions for special supplements, improved reliability of measured values can be considered as the serious arguments for Salzgitter Flachstahl company to apply the radar technology. Using the new generation of radar-locating sensors for level control, manufactured by Enfress + Hauser company, Salzgitter Flachstahl has achieved high degree of efficiency in iron- and steelmaking. Three radar-locating systems have been mounted and put into operation in the blast furnace shop of Salzgitter plant. They provide control and measurement of filling degree of blast furnaces. The new sensors are more cheap, efficient and reliable in comparison with the measuring systems mounted in 2005. As well, the new sensors Micropilot FMR5x provide integration with the production data base and easy technical maintenance without cardinal variation of set parameters. |
