Abstract |
Two ways of wire production from alloy AK12 for soldering and welding of aluminum structures were used and analyzed. Both ways involve the use of pressing as a direct rolling on the stage of semi-finished rod making. The difference between them is that continuous casting in electromagnetic mold is used for primary blank making, and method of compacting of graded metal chip waste in closed press mould is used for work-pieces manufacture. Practical testing of the mentioned ways was carried out on specialized and standard equipment, the diagrams and technical specifications are given in the article. Cold drawing was used to make wire with final dimensions, the main objectives were to determine the possibility of metal deformation without continuity and to choose annealing conditions, if necessary. The result of the research provides a comparative assessment of mechanical characteristics of semi-finished products after every stage of the developed process technology. Special consideration was given to the peculiarities of the initial stage of the process that determines behavior and properties of the metal in the subsequent operations of hot and cold forming. It is noted that the semi-finished products have different strength and plastic properties, but with the developed technology it is possible to make welding wire, which has passed industrial approbation and was recommended for soldering waveguides nodes of space technology. |
