Abstract | In order to improve serviceability of underground thermochemical treatment method of coal preparation, it is required to develop remote monitoring of fire face advance. The article considers the issue connected with the necessity to carry out special-purpose petrographical research during underground thermochemical treatment of coal with regard to the features of thermal conversion of rocks at various stages of coal extraction. The factors that govern the nature and intensity of change in physical parameters of coal under higher temperature yet remain to be elucidated equally. The change in the petrophysical properties of coal under higher temperatures are discussed just in occasional publications. The uneven temperature distribution in a geological object in the course of underground thermochemical treatment of coal conditions spatial zoning of coal bed area under mining. Each zone is subjected to certain thermophysical and thermochemical processes and embraces rocks with more or less certain mineral composition and texture, which will by all means influence petrophysical characteristics of rocks. Without studying physical characteristics of rocks and understanding petrophysical characteristics of coal and enclosing rocks in the specific zones of thermochemical treatment of coal, it is impossible to reach progress in the technologies of real-time remote monitoring of fire face advance. |
