Abstract | Beneficiation of multi-component complex ores is conventionally arranged in stages with production of bulk, bulk-selective and selective concentrates. Development of information-based beneficiation methods permits to arrange flow sheets in the modern way, relocating operations of forming bulk and selective products in ore-preparation stages. With respect to multi-component complex ores, most informative method for pre-concentration is X-ray fluorescence. It permits to estimate grades of several components in sorted lumps, performing ore sorting by comprehensive algorithms that take into consideration each component grade. The work considers a possibility to form various preconcentration products, both final and ones to be subjected to subsequent processing by separate flow sheets, that may significantly simplify advanced beneficiation circuits. The considered algorithms and similar ones may be implemented, following screening of ore not exceeding 350 mm size into machined-sorted size fractions and separating non-sorting fraction, applying three or two-product X-ray fluorescence separators in one or two operations. A possibility to separate three products in one operation permits to set cut-points by certain analytical parameters, directly related to valuable components’ grades. Selection of a particular algorithm provides for accomplishment of a certain processing task, whether that be separation of maximum possible amount of tailings or concentrates of specified grade, or production of different sorts of products. |
