Abstract

Abstract. Innovations and technologies of oxidizing period of Fe–Cr–Ni–C–Si–Mn system melt components in 08Х18Н10Т stainless steel manufacture are considered and the results of pilot melts are examined. 4 pilot melting operations have been conducted in 20-t electric arc furnace in order to reveal kinetic regularities and constants in varied technological conditions. Kinetic constants of oxidizing processes of alloyed melt components have been established based on these results. Basic regularities of the theory of steel decarbonizing process have been analyzed. The above-mentioned innovations allowed to develop increased temperature procedure and permanent rate of oxygen injection in the furnace between melts at high gas pressure in oxygen pipeline. The algorithm of calculated prediction of oxidizing period duration during melting of 08Х18Н10Т stainless steel and similar steel grades was elaborated using kinetic equations and parameters, with achieving low carbon content in metal.
