Abstract | This study presents the results of approbation of method for laser cladding with heat-resistant nickel-based alloy powder. Laser cladding was conducted with specimens, which have various types of structural steel and different shapes (cylindrical, flat) (simulating parts and units of mechanisms). Laser cladding was carried out using “Scanner” and “Huffman HC-205” equipment. Changes of microstructure and microhardness of laser claddings were studied in a relationship with laser radiation power and powder application methods on a surface of processed specimens. As a result of the carried out studies, the optimal processing modes of laser treatment were established, making possible the obtaining of structurally uniform laser claddings, which hardness is two times higher than initial material. In case of implementation of “Huffman HC-205” equipment, the quality of cladding connection with cylindric base (with the same parameters of laser treatment and powder) is increased along with increase of radiation power, reaching its optimum at P ~ 800 W. The quality of cladding connection with flat specimens is increased if powder is feed at 30o angle to the surface. In case of “Scanner” equipment, the quality of cladding connection with cylindric specimens is increased, when powder is fed towards a movement of laser beam and with radiation power, equal to P ~ 1100 W. This work was carried out in the Center for Nuclear systems and materials with the state support from the Program for increase of competitiveness of National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (contract with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation of 27 August 2013 No. 02. а03.21.0005) and additional support from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (unique project identifier is PNIER RFMEFI58214X0004). |
