Abstract | Wear, deformation and crack formation terminate the service of hot working tools, as the piercer point in the production of seamless steel tubes. Especially with products of higher alloyed steel, short service life leads to high tooling costs, limitations in quality and productivity as well in the achievable product length. With new tooling technology a multiplication of the service life is achieved. The main advantage of the investigated PQSC technology is cutting expenses for working tools. High level of reproducibility of this tool provides operational reliability accompanying by better structural and geometrical parameters (such as lowering of number of internal defects and eccentricity of finished product). Additionally, these tools can be used without external cooling, with consequent productivity rise by 25 %. It is also displayed that development of new heat-insulated layers with increased wear resistance for rolling of high-alloyed steels can be resulted in minimization of required internal cooling of working tool. |
