Drilling and blasting operations in rock massif developing open pits are the first stage of total technological cycle of mining and concentration production. These operations make a direct influence on efficiency of following stages: extraction-and-loading and transport works, mechanical grinding, crushing and concentration of mineral raw materials. In total cost of mining production, drilling and blasting operations in iron ore open pits have 30% of wastes and more. At the same time, storaging, transportation and use of explosive materials is related to the category of specially dangerous works, and single blasts make a negative influence on atmosphere of open pit and environment. In connection with thins, improvement of whole technical and technological complex of drilling and blasting operations is an urgent scientific-practical and organizational task. This article shows the modern status of technical and technological complex of drilling and blasting operations in open pits of Sokolovsko-Sarbaiskoe Mining and Concentration Production Association. Amounts of carried out works are also shown together with basic successfully realized innovations, directed on increasing of economic efficiency, industrial and ecological safety of drilling and blasting operations, and improvement of quality of blasting preparation of rock mass. Besides, together with specialists of Kazakh State Center of Blasting Operations, there is carried out the system monitoring on further improvement of drilling and blasting operations. There is carried out the experience exchange between the specialists of the Association and other large mining enterprises of near and far abroad countries. High technologies are tested.
