Exploitation practice of mine dump trucks with large carrying capacity with hydromechanical transmission has shown, that in severe weather events, when grip is weak because of heavy rainfalls, movement of such machines on long ascending grades is unstable (often with wheel-spin). According to this, BelAZ started the manufacturing of electromechanical transmission mine dump trucks BELAZ-7558 (БЕЛАЗ-7558). These trucks are aimed to replacement of BELAZ-75570 (БЕЛАЗ-75570) dump trucks, which had the same carrying capacity, but hydromechanical transmission. There were created two modifications of mine dump trucks, which differ by structure of coupler electric drive (two Russian companies are suppliers). One modification is still under the plant testings, and other modification (BELAZ-75581 (БЕЛАЗ-75581)) is already sent to mass production. The transport company «Region-42» became the first Russian consumer of this machine. «Region-42» company carries out the transportation of rocks on coal strip mines of Kemerovo Oblast (Kuzbass) and has a significant park of BELAZ mine dump trucks, including BELAZ-75570. BELAZ-75581 dump truck was bought by the company in the middle of 2013, and, for a several months of exploitation on Kamyshanskiy strip mine, showed better towing and dynamic performances, than BELAZ-75570. Because of the less quantity of mechanical details, there was decreased the maintenance burden of mine dump truck. The corresponding costs were decreased. The company made a decision about the purchase of whole line of BELAZ-75581 machines in 2014.
