Abstract | The developed high technology of noble metal extraction from low concentration solutions is suitable for additional gold recovery from reusable solutions of gold-extracting plants and heap leaching at minimum cost. The primary effect of the technology is reached owing to extraction of dissolved gold by fine active carbon and ion-exchange resins (smaller than 20 μm). The authors have solved the problem of instrumentation to ensure the work of the fine absorbent at the stage of sorption at high throughput rate. The efficiency of the technology is supported by the cost of additional gold recovery per 1 g: 5–14 USD as compared with factory cost of 12–20 USD. The developed technology of gold extraction from low concentration solutions enables processing of old tailings of gold-extracting plants with gold content of 0.2–0.6 g/t. For gold extraction from old tailings of gold-extracting plants at their storage sites, it is suggested to feed leaching solution under pressure of 1–1.5 MPa using drainage pipes. |
