Abstract |
Strength properties of 1565ch (1565ч) alloy exceed the same properties of 5083 and 1550 alloys by 20–25%, which correspond to the basic strength requirements to alloys, used in the structures, operating at low temperatures. Comparative analysis of mechanical properties of welds, made of magnesium-aluminium alloys 1565ch and 1550 in the annealed condition (1565ch M and 1550 M) was carried out on the basis of test results of samples, subjected to uniaxial tension and impact bending at the temperatures of 293, 203 and 77 K. There were defined the peculiarities of increase of strength of clad metal and welds, made of 1550 M and 1565ch M alloys, using argon-arc welding with welding wires SvAMg5 (СвAMг5) and CvAMg61 (СвAMг61) in low temperature conditions. There was established that values of ultimate strength and yield strength of metal, which was clad by the researched filler material compositions within low temperature range, exceeded the appropriate values observed at room temperature by 10–12%. Strength of weld samples made of 1565ch M alloy at lower test temperature was practically at the same level as it was at room temperature. Ultimate strength value of weld samples, made of 1565ch M alloy, with weld reinforcement was in the range of 360–370 MPa. The same strength value with reinforcement relief was in the range of 330–340 MPa, which is 15–20% higher than ultimate strength value of 1550 M alloy welds. Thus, enhanced strength properties of 1565ch M aluminum-magnesium alloy were realized in welds, which can be the confirmation of good prospects of this alloy as applied to structures used at cryogen temperatures. |
