In September 2013, Belarusian Autoworks (the largest machine-building plant in the CIS, specializing in the production of mining trucks) celebrated its 65^th Anniversary. The anniversary coincided with the Scientific-Practical Conference with broad participation of consumers of factory products. For the first time in the world, a prototype of the mining truck with payload capacity of 450 metric tons was presented to the participants of the conference. The truck has the following unique technical features: 3430 kW (4600 hp) of total capacity of power modules, 19.8 m of turning radius, 64 km/h of maximum speed, 12% of gradability on long continuous slopes (short slopes — up to 18%), 26 seconds of unloading time. Serial production of these trucks will be launched in 2014. Specialists were also interested in other developments of the factory: robotic truck with payload capacity of 130 metric tons and modified truck with payload capacity of 90 metric tons. The article also describes the new design solutions, implemented in the foregoing vehicles.
