Information about modern status of industry and enterprises in the area of extraction, processing and transporting of gas and oil in Komi Republic is given in this article along with the total results of activities of companies and indices for 2012. There are shown the basic tendencies of mastering of deposits of hydrocarbon raw materials in the Republic; prospects and existing problems in the area of extraction of natural gas and utilization of associated petroleum gas; and prospective projects in the area of oil and pipeline transport processing. Oil and gas industry of Komi Republic is presented by the range of enterprises and companies of various forms of properties – from searching, exploration and extraction to processing of hydrocarbon raw materials and following transportation. Modern status of gas industry of Komi Republic is characterized by rather extreme exhaustion of raw materials base. This exhaustion is connected with considerable degree of reserves manufacturing (to 80%) on exploited deposits, as well as with absence of the fund of new gas deposits, prepared to development and able to compensate the exclusion of extraction capacities. Since 1985, increasing of gas reserves has not completed the extraction. Total extraction in Komi Republic in 2012 was 2.38 bln. m³ of gas. Nowadays, the region is stably attractive for oil producing companies. Since 2008, the Republic has extracted over 13 bln. t of oil per year. Summarily, the companies increase the extraction. According to the results of 2012, extraction of oil (including gas condensate) exceeded 13.7 mln. t. Extraction dynamics in first months of 2013, along with the tendency of development of industry in whole, are characterized by the “low growth”: 3.38 mln. t of oil and gas condensate for the I quarter. Most likely, such state of affairs will be saved: there are no prospects for foundation of large oil reserves on the territory of the Republic. There is defined the crucial role of oil and gas complex in provision of social and economic welfare of region.
