Abstract | In the present paper a new low cost process of potash ore preparation by dry crushing to flotation size suggested by JSC Halurgy (Mineral Salt Production) is put under consideration. It is emphasized that the process suggested can be put into effect on condition of introducing the operation of attrition and dispersion of water insoluble admixtures from the ore crushed down to flotation size, in order to generate finely dispersed slime particles prior to the hydro-mechanical and flotation desliming of the ore and subsequent sylvite flotation of the deslimed ore. The attrition process both with dispersing reagent addition and without it has been studied on potash ores of Verkhnekamsk, Gremyachinsk (Russia) and Tubegatan (Uzbekistan) deposits. A significant influence of insoluble admixtures mineral composition in the finely dispersed ore fractions on the concentration process was ascertained. Slimes attrition with dispersing reagents addition was found to affect positively both ore desliming performance and sylvite flotation results. The slimes attrition process appears to be advantageous in that no finely dispersed salt particles are formed in the process. |
