Abstract | The article is devoted to the problem of highquality crushed stone production, the demand for that constantly increasing, especially in connection with construction of heavytraffic and highspeed railway lines. In this respect, a need is emphasized to develop efficient devices for separation of flaky grains fractions from rock material crushing products with the view to increase marketable crushed stone quality. A device for bulk granular material classification by shape is proposed in the article. The device construction and operating principle are described. The device includes an inclined working surface with a cross opening. Vibrofeeder delivers monolayer of loose material to working surface. The character of particles movement upon working surface depends on their shape: flaky grains slide over working surface, while cubeshaped — roll over. With that, flaky grains movement is decelerated under the action of friction forces, and they drop into opening, while cubeshaped, on the contrary, accelerate movement and jump over the opening. The device parameters are related to characteristic size of loose material. Certain device arrangements are considered, and the results of experimental tests are presented. The device is distinguished by simplicity, reliability, compact size, low costs in production and servicing. |
