Abstract | The basic trends in iron ores preparation and processing equipment and technologies development in Russia and abroad are considered. The 15 latest projects of foreign iron ore concentrating plants are assessed. Raw materials sources, processing flow sheets and equipment are described, the metallurgical results and main operationalandeconomic parameters of Mining Complexes projects are presented. Highpres sure grinding rollers technology dominance is shown, its application providing for drastic decrease in processing stage feed material size, also rejecting a significant mass of final tailings prior to grinding without magnetic separation, and reducing number of grinding stages, thus essentially decreasing ore preparation costs. It is noted, that Derric screens are designed for application at a large concentrating plant for the first time instead of hydrocyclones in finelycrushed ore grinding circuit. Reverse flotation application as the main process for oxidized quartzites treatment is pointed out. Such process solutions as vertical mills application for beneficiation products regrinding, filtration of concentrates by means of filterpresses, concentrates hydrotransport lines length increase to 750 km, final tailings dewatering by paste thicken ing technology prior to dumping, or by filtration with «dry» dumping, are considered. The processing stage engineering performance standards of the Russian Mining Complexes located in the Northwestern Federal District and in the Kursk Region magnetic anomaly area are assessed. A conclusion is drawn regarding advisability of a comprehensive technological and engineering modernization of the industry with consideration of the world trends in designing and taking into account the implementation and experience of the complete «ore—metal» cycle at the OAO Lebedinsky Mining Complex. |
