Abstract | Power engineering efficiency in the iron and steel industry is very actual theme. Cost of energy carriers and resources makes the most part of general expenses for production. Owing to modernization of the existing units it became possible not only to increase power engineering efficiency and productivity, but also to optimize production program, consumption of materials and energy carriers. The paper also examines the strategies of reliable data processing at the enterprises of iron and steel industry. The joint seminar organized by the committees of equipment, forging, flat and long rolled products, was devoted to discussion of the problems of improving the data reliability, increasing of efficiency and quality of finished products. Reliablity of IT-technologies in outsourcing, improvement of quali ty of heavy plates, new ArcelorMittal wire rod mills, power efficient driving systems, modernization of continuous annealing line, putting into operation the world largest ring rolling mill are examined in details. |
