In 1998, Okhotsk Mining and Geological Company (the subsidiary enterprise of «Polymetal» JSC) became an owner of exploitation license of Khakandzha deposit. Mining operations began at this deposit in 2002, with simultaneous setting of gold recovery plant in exploitation. There is given a characteristic of geological structure of Khakandzha deposit, which was specified, according to the results of its detail exploration and exploitation.
Mineral and raw materials base of Khakandzha gold recovery plant is enlarged with two gold and silver deposits: Ozernoe and Avlayakan.
Ozernoe deposit was discovered during the exploration geological and geophysical operations within a radius of 100 km from the Khakandzha deposit. Reserves of Avlayakan deposit were significantly increased, as a result of detail exploration by drilling of main ore zones and discovery of «blind» mineralization. There are characterized the ore bodies and geological structure of Ozernoe and Avlayakan deposits.
