Abstract | The new reagent AMD (1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl-4-5 dimetilaminopirazolone) for flotation separation of sphalerite and pyrite at the flotation of copper-zinc sulphide ores was created. The mechanism of new reagent action is analyzed in this study. The reason of reagent AMD selectivity towards separation of pyrite and sphalerite in alkiline medium is determined. AMD forms the stable hydrophobic complex with zinc on the sphalerite surface. The oxidation of AMD by ions of Fe3+ occurs on the pyrite surface during the interaction with AMD. It results in formation of hydrofilic compaund on the pyrite surface. For the identification of the compaunds which is formed during the flotation on the surface of the sphalerite the complex compaund of AMD with zinc was synthesized. The velocity of complex compaud formation rises at the presence of thiocyanate ions. The identification of the formed compaund was carried out with use of UF and FTIR spectroscopy. It was shown that the surface of a pyrite can catalyze oxidation of the AMD by ions of Fe3+ with formation of the hydrophilic oxidation product — DOAMD. |
