Tsvetnye Metally
The 4-th issue of the journal «Tsvetnye Metally» (Non-ferrous metals) (April 2017) shows the issues of theory and practice of ore dressing, complex use of crude ore, production and processing of non-ferrous metals, materials science, economics and management of production.
Zinc-bearing dust of electric-arc furnaces is a valuable source of metallic zinc. The item “Heavy Non-Ferrous Metals” tells about the modern state of electric arc furnace dusts processing and about the results of the latest developments in the Waelz-process at Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant. The new ways were found and allowed the increasing of production capacity of a new Waelz-complex (in comparison with the basic one) and obtaining of high-qualified Waelz oxide.
The item “Nanostructured metals and materials” detaily describes the template sol-gel method of the synthesis of nanostructured materials TiO2/ZrO2/SiO2. These materials may be used as anode ones for lithium-ionic accumulators.
The item “Materials science” shows the results of modification of titanium alloy VT20 surface by spark erosion treatment in various gases (argon, nitrogen, air). Titanium alloys are widely used in various branches of mechanical engineering due to their unique physical-chemical and exploitation properties (low specific weight, heat resistance, corrosion resistance etc).
