Tsvetnye Metally
Aticles, published in the 5-th issue of "Tsvetnye Metally" (Non-ferrous metals) journal (May, 2013) share the subject area of heavy and light non-ferrous metals and rare metals. This issue shares the questions of theory and practice of ore concentration, production and processing of non-ferrous metals, complex usage of crude ores, economics and management of production and industrial automation.
This issue includes the article, which is devoted to Udokan deposit. The large-scale and complex problem of mastering of this deposit includes the special approaches to designing and realization of project. Since the Udokan deposit was opened, there have been cumulated many inconsistent meanings about the project realization ways. Technologies require the further understanding for manufacturing of the most efficient deposit mastering methods.
The section «Beneficiation» includes the article by P. K. Fedotov. This article describes the results of comparison of ore disintegration efficiency by various methods. The F. Bond method was the basis for the definition of indices, which are used for the calculation of industrial ball mill parameters (sizes, capacity) for grinding of ore at concentration plant with optimal (minimal) costs of electric power.
The article by Yu. G. Seredkin and A. P. Lysenko, published in the section «Aluminium, Alumina, Carbon Materials», describes the developed technology of obtaining of fine-dispersed aluminum hydroxide by electrolytic method.
The article by V. I. Bolobov, Ya. M. Shneerson and A. Yu. Lapin describes the results of the carried out analysis of corrosion behavior of samples (including the weld samples) of six grades of foreign alloys of Cr-Ni-Mo and Cr-Ni-Mo-Cu alloying systems and Cr-Ni-Mo-Cu-steel 904L (analogue of Russian steel EI943 (ЭИ943)). The samples were researched in the conditions of high-temperature leaching of pyrite gold-containing concentrates in laboratory autoclave and half-industrial continuous unit, using the gravimetric and metallographic methods.
The article by O. M. Ogorodnikova, D. G. Ryabov and V. S. Radya is published in the section «Automation». This article shows, that computer modeling of thermal regime of mould with crystallization of crude copper ingots is an efficient instrument of improvement of technological processes. Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) was applied for the cast moulds, used at Sredneuralsky Copper Smelter.
