Based on the exploration drilling data and the accompanied geometallurgical modelling, material composition and metallurgical properties of disseminated ore (eight samples) of Maslovsky Deposit located in close proximity to Norilsk-1 Deposit currently have been developed. Proper disseminated ore is the prevailing type relating to picrite, taxitic and contacting gabbro-dolerites and partially to the rocks of the ore-bearing intrusion’ lower exocontact. Rich-disseminated ores are characterised by the combination of disseminated and vein texture, as well as by higher grade of noble and variable grade of non-ferrous metals. Also, they form intervals of various thicknesses in the ore horizon. Pyrrhotite, pentlandite and chalcopyrite are the principal sulphide minerals, cubanite and millerite being more seldom, and have close ratios of copper minerals and pyrrhotite. Over 30 own phases of noble metals have been identified. Tests in beneficiation using gravity separation/flotation process flow-sheet for the first time ever applied to the said deposit’ ore treatment have demonstrated satisfactory rates of nickel, copper and noble metals (platinum, palladium, gold) recovery. Due the material composition and treatability parameters, Maslovsky Deposit’ disseminated ores are virtually similar to those of Norilsk-1 Deposit, thus making a real backup for MMC Norilsk Nickel’ disseminated (and possibly rich) mineral reserves.
